Winnipeg, Manitoba (AP) Martin Nekas and Vincent Trochek scored power play goals, and Carolina Hurricanes beat Winnipeg Jets 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Jacob Slavin and Sebastian Aho each had goals and assists for the hurricane. Nino Kneaderwriter had two assists. Frederik Andersen made 16 saves for Carolina in the opening round of the five-game road trip.
